In search of an easy, family-friendly weekend away? Collingwood is calling! Located approximately two hours north of Toronto, Blue Mountain Resort caters to adventurers, leisure travellers and families alike, offering the perfect place to soak in the beauty of Ontario’s largest mountain village resort, spanning across the Niagara Escarpment. To help you plan an action-packed itinerary, our team is sharing our favourite things to do (and devour) when a weekend getaway is in order.

Read on to explore a few ways you can enjoy all that Blue Mountain has to offer!

Don’t Waffle on Breakfast

Fuel an adventure-filled weekend by starting your day at our chic eatery in the upscale Westin Trillium House, Blue Mountain. Enjoy full-service mountain dining seven days a week in our bright, stylish dining room and choose from dishes like eggs Benedict, mushroom huevos rancheros and a classic Canadian breakfast. Kiddos can tuck into a build-your-own parfait, cheddar omelette with home-fried potatoes or a fresh-off-the-iron Belgian waffle. Don’t sleep too late as breakfast wraps up daily at 11:30am.

Drive, Pitch or Putt

Avid golfers and newbies alike can enjoy a round on-site at Monterra Golf, or visit one of Collingwood’s many scenic courses. Whether you’re in it for the long haul or a quick nine holes, don’t forget to take a moment and soak in the inspiring mountain views. Are your skills not quite up to par? Why not book at bucket at the driving range or explore some of Collingwood’s nearby mini putt offerings and practice away!

Après Your Way

Have you worked up a sweat? Maybe you watched from the sidelines. Regardless, there’s nothing like a refreshing beverage in the spirit of après ski. With rotating drink specials at O&B Café Grill, pick and choose from our selection of daily deals like half-priced bottles of wine on Sundays or $10 glass of rosé (5oz). For those who want to après the booze-free way, allow us to mix up a delicious zero-proof cocktail!

Pizza and Patio Pints

When the sun is shining, take in the buzzing energy of Blue Mountain Village with a bite and some people watching ― the perfect late afternoon activity. Enjoy our selection of pizzas cooked to order in our Wood Stone oven and enjoy a meal in our cozy-meets-contemporary dining room. Psst… our kids menu even features a pint-sized pepperoni pie! When the weather is clear, our breezy pond-side terrace is a summery dream for patio beers and bar bites.

Relax to the Max

Open year-round, tourists and locals alike have been known to flock to Scandinave Spa Blue Mountain for the ultimate spa day. Visitors can indulge in some serious relaxation at the outdoor thermal baths or book a massage treatment for much-needed me-time. Spa-goers can further enhance the benefits of the Scandinavian Baths experience with a short walk on the Forest Bathing Trail before or after their visit.

Bikers and Hikers Unite!

If you’re searching for a good workout, strap on your hiking boots, gather your bike gear and explore the beauty of Blue Mountain Resort’s nature-filled hiking and bike trails. Busy with little ones or looking for something a little more leisurely? Take in the gorgeous vistas and natural wonders of the Niagara Escarpment with a ride on the gondola or explore the Little Rollers Bike Playground and pump track.

Make a Scene

Connect with nature at Collingwood’s Scenic Caves, another option for year-round exploration. Enjoy 15kms of trails offering 370 acres of natural beauty as you explore the 200 year old forest, attempt gemstone mining, cross the suspension footbridge and settle in for a pond-side picnic. Once you’ve checked out the caves and crevices, try a treetop trek or fly across a towering zipline. It’s a choose-your-own-adventure of awe-inspiring views and a variety of attractions.

Treat Yourself in Comfort

Weekends away often mean taking part in the art of not lifting a finger. If you’re calling The Westin Trillium House home for a couple of days, enjoy refined cuisine from the comfort of your room! Kickstart your morning with a SuperFoodsRx™ breakfast menu featuring dishes designed to leave you revitalized and recharged. Making it a movie night in or putting your feet up after a long day of exploring? Enjoy Chef Gerry Williams’ diverse choice of appetizers, seafood, steaks, chops, ribs, pasta, fire-roasted pizza, gourmand burgers and desserts without moving a muscle! Little ones are covered too with kids menus designed for small appetites.

Salmon Fillet
